Kirrily Blomfield

Kirrily is a farm business owner/manager and director interested in regenerative land management. Kirrily practices and promotes regenerative agriculture in the farm business she owns and manages on the Liverpool Plains with her husband Derek. They produce and market their own chemical free, 100% grassfed beef under the brand ‘The Conscious Farmer’. They manage their land using Holistic Management principles and were awarded NSW Farmer of the Year in 2014 for their sustainable and innovative approach to their business. Kirrily is also a director with Holistic Management International (HMI) - a not for profit organisation that has educated over 50,000 people in 130 countries in whole farm planning for sustainable environmental, economic and social benefits. She is president of SOS Liverpool Plains, a women’s group concerned with protecting the water, communities, farmland, soils and health of the people of the Liverpool Plains region from inappropriate mining of coal and coal seam gas. As part of a wider 10 year campaign, this has resulted in the Government buy back of a BHP coal exploration license and the stalling of both coal and coal seam gas projects in the region. Kirrily’s passion for food production, the land and environment have led her to her role as director with Farmers for Climate Action where she is helping to raise awareness of the impacts of climate change and encourage solutions to the same.
