2019 Farmers for Climate Action AGM

What has Farmers for Climate Action achieved? Where are we headed? And how can we build farmer resilience? Find out at FCA's online Annual General Meeting, to be held at 3pm AEDT on Wednesday 23 October 2019 via Zoom.

Join us as we reflect on our achievements over the past 12 months, share our plans for the next year and introduce our new CEO Wendy Cohen. Wendy has had an impressive and varied career across media and not for profits. Her most recent role was the CEO of the Country Education Foundation.

2018-19 has been a busy year for FCA. We are still in the process of being granted Deductible Gift Recipient status, which we hope will be confirmed in the not too distant future. The team was kept busy with a constant stream of elections and campaigns. We are so excited about where FCA is heading, our influence in the climate space is rapidly growing and we are becoming a trusted voice for farmers to turn to.

Guest speaker

Our guest speaker this AGM is Associate Professor Jacki Schirmer. Associate Professor Schirmer will share with us her insights into how we can build resilient farming communities. Jacki is a visiting fellow at the Fenner School, and an Associate Professor at the University of Canberra. Her work focuses on the intersection of human wellbeing and use and interaction with natural resources. Jacki leads the Regional Wellbeing Survey Jacki also conducts research examining the social impacts of changing access to natural resources (including access to water, forests, fisheries and agricultural land), community acceptance of natural resource management, and supporting resilience, adaptive capacity and wellbeing in regional communities.
