Emerald Candidates Forum

This Sunday, Farmers for Climate Action is hosting a community forum in Emerald with candidates running for the seat of Gregory at the upcoming state election.

There are some big issues affecting our region right now. Adani. Climate change. Groundwater. Renewable energy. A huge turnout at the forum will show key politicians just how important these issues are.
This is your chance to ask questions of the candidates asking for your vote in the upcoming Queensland election.
This Sunday morning (12th November)
9.00 am - 11.30am November
Supper Room, Emerald Town Hall, 33 Egerton Street
Our community relies on healthy soil and clean water. But things are changing fast in our region. There are 9 proposed coal mega-mines for the Galilee Basin, including the Adani mine.

All candidates including the current sitting member will be there. Confirmed candidates on the panel are:
  • The Hon. Lachlan Millar (Liberal National Party)
  • Bruce Currie (Independent)
  • Mark Higgins (One Nation)
  • Norm Weston (Greens)
  • Dave Kerrigan (Labor Party)
After the panel and Q&A (which ends at 10.30am) you are invited to stay for an informal cuppa and cake with the team from Farmers from Climate Action, including our Queensland coordinators Mick and Michael, our CEO Verity, and our local volunteers.
RSVP here to let us know your coming (and don't forget to send the link to your friends and any groups you are a part of!
Thanks for coming along.
Best wishes,
Michael Kane & Mick Alexander
